Maximizing Audio Performance

My wonderful but aging MacPro cheese grater is still going strong.  :(Even though I can only go up to Catalina OS)  I've started getting some performance crashes and I thought I would dig deeper into the Audio Preferences.  Below is a screen shot of my current settings. (I just changed some after watching a YouTube tutorial, but my confidence is low on the accuracy of this particular vid.)

What do some of you experts suggest in terms of :

Processing threads:

Process Buffer Range:

Multithreading :

Summing

Any input is helpful and appreciated

Trivial, but did you read about the published documentation about same?

Are you using the audio dummy trick to avoid live mode, besides the usual cautionary.
