Modifier (and other MIDIFX) is not learning my controller [Solved]

I am trying to learn some midi from my knobs, but even though Logic shows that it's receiving the messages, the Modifier, for example, is not learning the midi.

Any idea what's happening?

The track is selected, the Learn Midi option is selected, but no luck.

Can you describe your process step by step?

Found the issue: I didn’t have an instrument inserted and for some reason Logic doesn’t let MIDIFX work in that scenario if there’s no instrument.
