Crackling latency issue

Hi,

I have the Apollo Twin X, Logic Pro X, and a New M1 iMac.

I started recording midi keyboard tracks with no problems with latency set at 128.

Had no problems with noise crackling...

Then I started adding Guitar Rig 6 guitar tracks and soon started getting an unusable amount of crackling.

I thought it may be a faulty thunderbolt cable so I replaced it- but it was not resolved.

Only when I upped the latency to 1024 did it go away on playback.

I only recorded a few guitar tracks and very few tracks overall.

So, I don't know what the issue is.

I mean, I can't record at 1024....

Not sure what to do or how to proceed to correct this.

Any help would be appreciated!!

Yes, and I'm thrilled!

The only thing i'm observing however is that I'm not able to record (meaning I don't hear the guitar rig effect), unless the "I" is checked,

even though my settings seem the same as yours.

Once I record, i'm unticking the "I", and all is clear in the playback.

a clear sound at 128 latency setting.

So that's how I'm recording my guitar tracks.

Not clear on "toggling the audio input monitoring" you mentioned above.

Auto Input monitoring. It gives priority to playback. So if you are armed and ready to record but you hit playback, you won't hear yourself until you record. It it's off, you will always hear the input signal.

So that is the part that is still bothering me, is that now resolved, or do you still not hear a R-enabled track through guitar rig when "I' is not checked?
