deckard1
Anybody happen to know what old piece of music equipment is inside the 'grey ellipse' on top of Pete's Hiwatt amp head in picture below? An old microphone device, or, something similar? Thanks.
Atlas007
It looks like an old compressor...
Solution fuzzfilth Posted November 16, 2022 Solution Share Posted November 16, 2022 (edited) Since the guitar cable is split, the device is not in the signal path. It's a tuner: Edited November 16, 2022 by fuzzfilth

fuzzfilth
Well, first of all, this is Pete F'ing Townshend, and if he's plugging in his guitar, he's not messing around with a compressor (sorry Atlas...). Then, since he's a producer as well, he is highly aware of the importance of a guitar being precisely in tune (mind you, this does not apply to The Who being on stage which is, um, a completely different experience and focus) The guitar cable being split indicates that the device is not in the signal path, as mentioned. So the only logical conclusion is that this is a tuning device. Either that, or you could use Google picture search, like I did...
