GarageBandApp20?

Recently I discovered something strange in my insert(channel strip setting)

When i click on the little triangle and get the list appear I have noticed a GarageBAndApp20 in my list.

I figure that this has something to do with GarageBand 2.0 BUT why is it there???

It seems to be an exact duplicate of the garageband post in the list

They probably appear twice on your hard drive? Have you reinstalled Garageband? Recently upgraded to GB 2.0?

In any case I wouldn't worry about it too much

No! I have a clean install of Garageband...

An d I have never had GB 1 on this computer so it seems like somethings just not right with Apples integration of GB!?!

One thing is also that Apple seems to have changed the default folder for Apple Loops.

Before it used to be inside:

Library/Application Support/GarageBand

it still is but they have added:

Library/Audio/Apple Loops /Apple

I think Pro 7.1 did this and also the new Jam Pack 4 resides there wile the other 3 are in the GarageBand folder.

I don't have that problem with GarageBand 2.0, which is installed on my computer. Not sure where it comes from.

As for the Apple Loops, I agree, it's a mess. I think Apple realizes it and is trying to fix it, and that's why they keep changing the location of Apple Loops and Jam Packs, which makes it a hassle to keep track of.

David...

Do you have a receipt in your Library>Receipts That is called GarageBandApp20.pkg??

Can this one be the villain in this drama.

Yes, I have that receipt. It was installed by the GarageBand installer. A receipt is installed by an installer so that OSX can keep track of what was installed and where. It is also useful to the desinstallers, to make sure to get rid of everything the installed installed.

Ok that's not it then...

David do you have this: Apple Loops for GarageBand

in

Library/Audio/Apple Loops /Apple?

Maybe thats it!

Is your GarageBand Application updated and do you have the Jam Packs?

Yes, it is an update. I first installed 1.0 and then updated it with the iLife DVDs.

I have this on my hard drive:

/Library/Application Support/GarageBand/Apple Loops/Apple Loops for GarageBand/

and

/Library/Audio/Apple Loops/Apple/Apple Loops for GarageBand/

Never installed any Jam Packs. Isn't that fun? :D

Cute

... Well maybe it is one of the Jam Packs that have F:ed something up...

Jam pack nr 1 has somehow merged with the original loops cause I can only find Apple Loops for Garageband Jam Pack in my GarageBand folder.

Well everything works fine anyway som maybe I shouldn't worry too much.

But if anyone encounters this problem please let me know.

BTW: I found this on the Apple forums:
