Nunstummy
These are likely obvious things about the step editor I have just missed. It's embarrassing to ask... 1. When the pattern is wide, with 2 view sections appear at the top of the editor, is there a way to have the playhead follow from one section to the next? 2. Can you copy a piece/note pattern in the first 16 steps, to the second 16 steps? If I create a pattern in the first 32 steps of a 64 step region, the second 32 steps are blank, unless I switch the view to 64 steps and back again. Then the pattern in the first 32 is copied to the second 32 steps. I'm more used to editing midi in the piano roll, where I can just select notes or groups of notes and cut and paste. But it doesn't look like you can 'select', copy and paste in the step editor?

I don't think there is? 🤨 On 1/28/2023 at 4:44 PM, Nunstummy said: 2. Can you copy a piece/note pattern in the first 16 steps, to the second 16 steps? No, in fact you can't select multiple steps in the step sequencer. I agree with you that some editing functionality (like Repeat, which I use all the time in the Piano Roll) is sorely lacking in the Step Editor. I’ve used piano roll editor for many years, but started testing the benefits of Step Editor in the last few years since 10.7.x Now I find myself converting pattern regions to midi, to do certain edits, and sometimes converting back again to the pattern regions. I guess Step Editor/Pattern Regions are designed more for the creative process, and piano roll still best for editing.
