Adjusting headroom at top of score

I must be making a very silly mistake...The manual says to do this to "adjust the vertical headroom at the top of a the score":

Quote

1. Place the pointer at the top edge of the score display.

The pointer changes to a pair of up-and-down pointing arrows.

2.  Drag up or down to adjust the vertical headroom.

The pointer on my machine does no such thing, anywhere near any edge or border. What am I missing?

I think you need to be in a different page set up...click the button next to the purple button that looks more like a "Portrait" style paper.

Yeah it only seems to work in Linear view, not Page or Wrapped view. How is one supposed to get some extra space at the top of a page in, say, Page view? Extra space for a song name or date or something like that...

I think the manual means the very top of the editor

That's just the standard pane divider mover. Not applicable when doing score editing in a separate window.

Or maybe you actually want more headroom within the score itself? Then drag the clef:

That changes the spacing of every staff. I just want some extra space at the top of the page to add a song title and a composer.

In page view - select view page display options and select show margins. Then you will see - then you will see a purple and orange line at the top for the header space and the top margin.

You can also adjust these in the  layout - global format as well.

Actually this works as described in the manual, but only in linear view:
