Eddfern
Just got off the phone with Apple/Logic rep. Very nice guy, but was not able to help me. I’m getting completely out of tune instruments or chopped sounds. It is a random issue, however, it happens consistently on every session..very frustrating :(
des99
Can you provide some details about the system you are running, your audio interface, your sample rate etc? Does it happen if you don't use your audio interface, and just use the inbuilt audio on your Mac? Can you describe what "out of tune instruments" is in more detail - is everything off by a constant amount, or some instruments are randomly tuned, or does the tuning of one particular instrument warble up and down etc? Do audio files sound at the pitch/speed they should be, or are they fine and it's just MIDI instruments? Does it happen if you disconnect any MIDI controllers you are having? I mean do you open the session one day and the instruments are out of tune? Or are you working in a project and at some point during the course of your day the instruments become out of tune? Eddfern
Hi David: the second option. I will be recording, and all of the sudden, a piano, or strings, or a sax, will playback the part out of tune. Very weird… Thanks
Eddfern
My MacBook is a brand new laptop with M1 chip, running Ventura Ventura 13.2. Apple M1 Max 64 GB with 2TB of storage. The out tune is random, and yes, sometimes is a warble effect, mainly on pads. The out of tune happens once in a while and it sounds like a 1/4 of tone lower in pitch. Tks
rAC
Does it happen if you start from a new empty template? Have you tried as a new user on your computer?

Are there any MIDI devices connected to your Mac? If yes, turn them off and try working without them for a while. Or if you prefer, monitor the incoming MIDI data to double-check that no device is sending pitchbend data. To do that, click the little down arrow symbol to the right in the LCD display and choose Custom. Where it says "No in" is a MIDI In monitor. Use that to see if a device is sending stray controller events.
Eddfern
I only use Apple plugins and a Keyboard controller Akai MPK88

Eddfern
Hi David: Apparently is working…will keep recording tracks and will give you an update later today. Thanks
David Nahmani
If it continues working as expected when the keyboard is off, then it's possible that the keyboard is sending stray pitchbend events.
Eddfern
Me again. Sorry, it didn’t work. The Spanish guitar went out of tune:(
David Nahmani
Ok so can you share a simple project and tell us how to reproduce the problem, so that one of us can have a look?
Eddfern
OK ~ I kept messing with the keyboard controller, and apparently is working normal again. Hopefully this will do. Fingers crossed. Thank you!

Solution Eddfern Posted February 4 Author Solution Share Posted February 4 Thank you David. Everything is working fine. Apparently the problem was the keyboard controller, as you recommended. Tks again.
