noisyneil
I'm trying out Divisimate, and I can see huge potential in it. However, after quite a few hours of investigation, there are a few of basic things I can't figure out. 1) Logic's articulation sets don't work when Divisimate's ports are used as track inputs. That's kind of a dealbreaker. 2) Hanging notes everywhere! 3) CC scaling seems to be slightly haphazard. Two instances of Kontakt will often see different values when DM is active. Has anyone else encountered and overcome these issues?
Atlas007
Did you try their tutorials?
noisyneil
Yup. It works great but I feel like they could streamline articulations a bit.

noisyneil
I mean I'm not gonna slate it. It's fantastically well thought-out in most respects. It just means I need to change the input midi ports if I want to change articulations after recording parts. The hanging notes thing is pretty tiresome though. Sometimes it's constant, sometimes not at all.
Dewdman42
please describe better the exact setup you are using and the problems encountered. You don't have to use the default of seperate midi input port per voice. You can instead using a single midi input port with up to 16 parts on 16 midi channels, for example. its a very flexible product, but all the default patches for it assume a certain way of working which may or may not work for you, there are other ways to use it.
noisyneil
I'm not in the studio at the moment, but can send screenshots when I am. Is there a method whereby all articulation sets would work? Have you not encountered hanging notes or CC scale disparity?
Dewdman42
articulation sets have a lot of problems with a lot of things, so I cannot say that there is any method where they will always work. If your provide us with more informnation we can look at what you're doing and see what can be done from there.
noisyneil
I started off according to the tutorials and set up their Universal Template. So if you know how that's meant to be set up, that's how I have it.
Dewdman42
sorry but I am not intimately familiar with their universal setup and my computer is offline at the moment, so you will have to describe it in order to get any help here. Also many people that don't even use divisimate may still be able to offer you some help to make it work. As I said already, the patches included with Divisimate seem to use one port per voice, but you don't have to do that, you can use one midi channel per voice on up to 16 parts and only use a single input midi port, which may be part of what is causing you problems, but I can't say more without more information from you about what you are trying to do.
