Rolo Tomasi
I have a Battery set up as a multi in L8. I can obviously see the auxes in the mixer, but is there a way to see them in the arrange? In Logic 7 if I remember I would just click hold on the track and assign it to an aux. And how would I bounce the individual outs from Battery to individual audio tracks in the arrange, not one by one but at the same time?
muses
1. Turn the automation mode to Read and they'll appear in the arrange page. 2. Create an audio track for each Bus you want to record and set each audio track's input to the bus you want to record from. Then it's just a matter of pressing record. Rolo Tomasi
1. Turn the automation mode to Read and they'll appear in the arrange page. Wow. Never would have thought about that. Thank you. 1. Turn the automation mode to Read and they'll appear in the arrange page. 2. Ok, I think that's where I was getting confused. It sounds like auxes in L8 are the same as busses? Below would be the correct setup, yes?
steveH
think of busses as common pathways. Those pathways can lead to aux channels or input channels in L8. When you create a send to a bus, L8 automatically creates an aux channel... It assumes that you want to group the audio for the purpose of applying a common effect. However, you don't have to use it if your destination is an input channel. In fact, you can delete the aux channel and you signal/s will still be on the bus but without a destination until another "bus stop" is chosen. Rolo Tomasi
Thanks Steve, Great explanation. I was interpreting the previous post as if you could record the output of a bus from the bus itself. Which of course you cannot. A bus is just a carrier, the signal always ends up on an audio or aux channel. Just took me a while to get it through my thick head.
