ni guang xin
my brother and i, are currently a music duo, and a few of my friends probably would join in the future, starting a band i've bought a license of logic pro years ago, the question is, do my brother and my friends need to buy too? or can they just download logic using my apple id, and onto their mac? since we are a duo/band, can we share the license? what about other 3rd plugins and samples (i've bought a lot of things from reveal sound) i can't seem to find information about a band sharing license. thanks a lot everyone! des99
No, you can't legally share your license with other people. One license is for one person. Other people could use *your* copy of Logic on your computer, but you can't just install your copy onto other peoples' computer for their use - they must get their own license. David Nahmani
1 hour ago, ni guang xin said: can they just download logic using my apple id, and onto their mac? No, they can't legally do that. The only way this can work is if you own a commercial studio or rehearsal room where you had a Mac installed with your Logic Pro license on it. Then the Mac can be used either by you, OR by your brother, OR by one of your friends. Here is the official language: Quote you are granted a limited, non-transferable, nonexclusive license: (i) to download, install, use and run for personal, non-commercial use, one (1) copy of the Apple Software directly on each Apple-branded computer running OS X (“Mac Computer”) that you own or control; and (ii) if you are a commercial enterprise or educational institution, to download, install, use and run one (1) copy of the Apple Software for use either: (a) by a single individual on each of the Mac Computer(s) that you own or control, or (b) by multiple individuals on a single shared Mac Computer that you own or control. For example, a single employee may use the Apple Software on both the employee’s desktop Mac Computer and laptop Mac Computer, or multiple students may serially use the Apple Software on a single Mac Computer located at a resource center or library.
