jerrydpi
I just purchased a Specular Tempus, and it has editing software available, but to use it I have to have Catalina, Big Sur, or Monterey. What are the pro's and con's of updating from Mojave 10.14.6 to any of them?
des99
Catalina kills support for old, 32-bit only software, that's probably the single biggest compatibility difference - if you use some old software, this may be important to you - or it may not matte at all. fisherking
also, check under 'software update' in system preferences; whatever's there is what apple is offering for your mac. finally, along with @des99's comments above, check your other software, you may need to update other apps as well as plugins... Hello my man, how ya been? It says I can update to Catalina 10.15.7. Is there an "easy" way to find out if any of my plugins are 32 bit? Not really, but if it has a standalone app, then you can check in System Information. This is from my laptop running Catalina, Waves 9 is 32-bit:
