I forgot recording when i played my best take of a song... "FUNCTION GHOST RECORDING"????

Hi! Im new in this forum and i hope get help from some expert Logic Pro men :D

I know that there is a "function" or trick to record a take anyway when you just play "without" recording on track.
When i was in Studio I just did a warm up on the song and played very well then when the the song ended the producer just did something and he got the take but he didnt "record" it. How he did?

I´ll be extremly thankfull if some can tell me how can i do that trick. Thank you!!!

Ohhhh!!!! I guess... but it was when i played guitar, not a midi instrument... :/

This would be really great to have for audio, but alas Logic doesn't offer this.
