SargamStudio
I am having problems with my Logic pro-X. While playing or recording a project, my all audio mutes and then comes back. Will mute again and will come back again. Can not figure out what is going on. Can not figure out the reason. Can not figure out the reason. Please help. I have tried freezing tracks, but did not help.
JakobP
As a trouble shooting step, try go main menu Logic Pro > Control Surfaces > Bypass All Control Surfaces, and see if the problem goes away ?
polanoid
This is the second thread you started for your issue, see , which is not a good idea IMO.

Okay, I do have a Mackie control surface connected but my logic projects lose audio, and pause regardless of the fact if I turn on the control surface or not. But I guess you're saying to me I should actually from software disconnect Mackie control and see what happens? I am sorry. I did that out of desperation. I haven't even heard from tech support from Motu yet. Anyway, I agree with you it is not a good idea. Is there a way to delete my post? SargamStudio
7 minutes ago, JakobP said: Exactly 🙂 Thank you so much I will try that. I want to share with you one thing. I found out that if I switch off my motu hybrid audio interface and get the audio output of the earphone jack of my MacBook pro, it'll work flawless. Obviously it will not sound overall as good as from the interface but it will continue to work fine. (Of course I can not making recordings, I can only play back) I wonder So if it is something to do with my audio interface, drivers or whatever, but I have not changed anything so that keeps me in a little mystery. Yesterday morning I opened a support ticket with Motu let us see what happens in the meantime if something comes to your mind please share with me. Thank you for the tip regarding the control surface. So I went to the preferences of Logic Pro X and disabled control surfaces. I used the project aggressively and all seems ok. I am continuing to use my DAW. Now the question is how do I get to use my Control Surface? I need it while playing, recording, and mixing. JakobP
I would try deleting the control surface preferences file to start fresh, and then reinstall the mackie . Quit Logic, delete the file /Users/*your username*/Library/Preferences/com.apple.logic.pro.cs, then start Logic and reinstall the mackie. Hth... I will use the logic pro-x for now without control surface asi want to make sure everything is working good, then I will definitely follow these suggestions as eventually I need the control surface. Thank you very much. Where do you live may I ask for your phone number or is it against the rules of the forums. I don't know, I'm relatively new. Looks like I jumped the gun too fast, this morning I woke up and my project is doing the same thing as before. So sad. I want to add a small video clip but I'm not able to ask the total limit is 1.95 MB

Did you make sure the "bypass all control surfaces" was still checked ? It resets when you restart Logic... But now I realize that I need to do that every time I turn on logic? Edited February 21 by SargamStudio

And more thing, out of curiosity I turned on Mackie control surface. While all are disabled, it still works. Is that weird or am I missing something? JakobP
To take a screenshot, press cmd+shift+3, this will create a high definition picture on your desktop, taking up less than a MB 21 minutes ago, SargamStudio said: But now I realize that I need to do that every time I turn on logic? This (the bypassing) is done for trouble shooting purposes, to see if your control surface setup somehow is faulty. As I wrote, the bypassing is reset after a Logic restart, so you would need to check it again, yes.

So as per my picture right now "Preferences>Control surfaces are disabled" yet the control surface is working. Is that normal?

May be missing something. Can you please mention this procedure again, in case I am missing something, PLEASE?

JakobP
Your control surface preferences file could be corrupt. Quit Logic and delete the file /Users/*your userid*/Library/Preferences/com.apple.logic.pro.cs, then start Logic and install your control surface again. Hth...
