GMunyard
I have 5 instrumental tracks in my project and I want to record 6 vocal tracks. I had recorded some audio tracks but wanted to improve the vocals so deleted them to start again. Now when I try to record the audio, all of a sudden I'm getting the instruments being recorded on the audio track with a very weak vocal. What have I done? David Nahmani
You're for example listening to vocals on headphones while recording an instrument with a microphone, the the vocals from the headphones may be bleeding into the microphone.

Show a screenshot (cmd-shift-4) of the Mixer window. Also, maybe you have activated a mixing preset on your audio interface ? Who knows.
ManFromNapa
Yes, please share a screenshot. I'd be interested to see how your buses are set up.

No David, the instrumentals are in the audio channel at the same time as I am recording audio. When I press the R button on the blank audio track and press Play, the instruments are going into the audio track, even without a microphone connected. The Steinberg UR22 MK II is pretty simple. It has an Input/DAW mixing knob but changing that made no diff. I'm using a Samson Studio Condenser microphone that requires phantom power through the audio unit...but can't see how that would affect the mix. Anyway, mixer screenshot is attached FYI. Solution JakobP Posted February 12 Solution Share Posted February 12 You probably need to disable its "Loopback" function...

I did a big rearrangement of my desk yesterday and disconnected tha reconnected the Steinberg and it looks like it went back to a previous setting. Thanks all. Back in business.
