Maestro777
When I join several regions on a single track having muted sections to create a new audio file, Logic creates a new region but retains the muted region that appears translucent until the region is selected. Is there a way to either change the visibility of the new region so that the muted regions underneath don't show OR even better; change the behavior so when I select to join several regions on a track that has muted regions that the new region is the only one remaining after the join? I don't see the benefit of keeping muted regions on my track if I've opted to create a new file. The fact that the it remains as translucent makes it a bit difficult to immediately recognize tracks that I've already created new regions unless I again select those regions. Solution Atlas007 Posted February 16 Solution Share Posted February 16 (edited) How about BIP instead? Edited February 16 by Atlas007
Maestro777
Thanks Atlas007. You're right, I could opt for that as an alternative. My thought was that using shortcut "J" followed by enter was just more efficient with a lot of tracks than BIP and then selecting to bypass the plugins each time. Techno laziness maybe? 🙂
David Nahmani
You can also use the Marquee to select a little more length than you region, and join. The idea is to force Logic to recreate a new audio file rather than healing the original one.

This will not keep the originally described issue ("join several regions on a single track having muted sections to create a new audio file, Logic creates a new region but retains the muted region that appears translucent until the region is selected") from happening though. A workaround/hack to remove those "translucent" regions beneath the joined region would be to switch on "No Overlap" mode and move the joined region for a tiny bit to the left or right, then back to its original position. This reliably deletes the overlapped regions. Edited February 17 by polanoid 1
Maestro777
That is what I was looking for!!! It is admittedly a hack but I can live with that. Thank you. @Atlas007@David Nahmani as always, your suggestions are invaluable and appreciated as well.
