Slide / Fade / Ramp between events entered in event list

When clicking and entering events in the tracks area via Show Automation, logic will interpolate ( ramp, slide, fade, etc.) between many event types (in my case it's midi CC). When looking at these events in the event list, the "keyframes" are shown, but then the in-between values are shown when enabling the "additional info" filter.

My question is, is there a way to create this same ramp behavior for events entered directly into the events list? How do you get those "additional info" in-between events?

If you start with two nodes that have interpolation between them, Logic will create all further events (also in the event list) with interpolation as well. So, begin with showing the MIDI CC in question as Region Automation in the Tracks Area, click into that automation twice with the Pencil tool so you do have an interpolated line, and then continue adding points in the Event list (which I find very cumbersome, but whatever suits you best).

Careful though if you want to do this after you already added automation points in the event list, because Logic will convert a curve like this:

to this when you create a new point with e.g. the Pencil Tool:

meaning that if you wanted an interpolated line between the first three points, you now need to manually delete the newly created nodes that form the steps...

not on topic, but.... @formika.treehouse... wins the 'forum member name' of the day 👍

sick. what do I win?

@polanoid& @David Nahmani Gotcha. What I'm more specifically trying to do is duplicate a pair of events in the event list that have interpolation between them, change the CC number, and retain the interpolation. sounds like I can't do that.

If you show Additional Info and select all the events, then change the CC number, it works.

oh, duh, that's perfect. not sure why I didn't think of that.

you've already got the prize: the screen name itself.... 👍

I'm honored, thanks me! this is also the name of my barely off the ground electronic music project. so far it's just an instagram account with some random synth jams.

The OP wants to convert CC data from one CC# to another while retaining the interpolation.

And I just found out you don't even need to show the Additional Info to do it:

I want to duplicate sets of events that have a ramp and then change the cc, I’ve found that additional info does need to be active. Also, I’m changing the number by double clicking instead of dragging.

if I want to duplicate again, I’ve been using the “select similar” command.

I can successfully convert an automation curve without having to see the Additional Info.

it's specifically when duplicating events and then changing them that additional info needs to be enabled, and those events need to be highlighted.
