formika.treehouse
When clicking and entering events in the tracks area via Show Automation, logic will interpolate ( ramp, slide, fade, etc.) between many event types (in my case it's midi CC). When looking at these events in the event list, the "keyframes" are shown, but then the in-between values are shown when enabling the "additional info" filter. My question is, is there a way to create this same ramp behavior for events entered directly into the events list? How do you get those "additional info" in-between events? David Nahmani
Not directly in the Event List, no, however you can open automation view in the Tracks area, create an extra node in between the two nodes, then remove that node, and the interpolation will be created. polanoid
If you start with two nodes that have interpolation between them, Logic will create all further events (also in the event list) with interpolation as well. So, begin with showing the MIDI CC in question as Region Automation in the Tracks Area, click into that automation twice with the Pencil tool so you do have an interpolated line, and then continue adding points in the Event list (which I find very cumbersome, but whatever suits you best). Careful though if you want to do this after you already added automation points in the event list, because Logic will convert a curve like this: to this when you create a new point with e.g. the Pencil Tool: , meaning that if you wanted an interpolated line between the first three points, you now need to manually delete the newly created nodes that form the steps... What I'm more specifically trying to do is duplicate a pair of events in the event list that have interpolation between them, change the CC number, and retain the interpolation. sounds like I can't do that. Also, I’m changing the number by double clicking instead of dragging. if I want to duplicate again, I’ve been using the “select similar” command. As you can see on my animated screen capture earlier, I can successfully convert an automation curve without having to see the Additional Info.
