Logic and Roland Zenology Audio Unit.

Recommended Posts

Disclaimer, forgive me, not strictly a Logic Pro question. I installed the Roland Zenology Free plugin a while ago to try it out when I bought a Roland TR-8S drum machine. All went well while using it, but now I want to uninstall it. And in spite of all my best efforts (erasing components, erasing preferences , searching and erasing application support files, etc, etc, etc) I cannot get rid of it in the list of Audio Units. I can't even "remove" it in the plug-in manager. Roland has been rather unhelpful. If anyone out there has an idea and can help, I would really appreciate it. Driving me nuts. Thx N.

If it's showing up, then it's in one of your two plugin components folders. Delete it from there, give a reboot for good measure, and it should be gone.

If it's still showing up, and can be used, it's still in your plugin folders.

Check:

/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/
(that's the Library folder in the root of your drive)

and

~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/
(that's the Library folder in your user account)

Thanks so much for replying ! Turns out it was in Application Support/Zenology and not Application Support/Roland. Don't know why I didn't see it earlier. It's always the way. As soon as I ask for help, a solution pops up.🙂

Yes, you'll ideally need to remove other support folders the plugin needs - but the AU plugin itself can only be in the root plugin folder, or the user plugin folder, and for it to not show up in Logic, it's the plugin component that must be removed - otherwise it will show up (even if it doesn't work because you've removed other support files the plugin needs).
