Guilian
Hi Guys, I'm looking for a way to set the value of a plugin depending on the level shown of a specific Channel Strip or Bus. For example if the level displayed on a Vocal Channel Strip equals "-7" then the Gain paramter of the Gain Plugin which is added to the Channel Strip should be set to "-5". (How) Is it possible to achieve that programmatically or using a script? Thx in advance for you help 🙂
Atlas007
Have you considered the Smart Control approach?
Guilian
Thx for your reply. The Smart Control is a great tool but it can't help me to do that
Atlas007
If you mean automatic adjustment of gain, that sounds like (reverse) ducking fx…
des99
No, you can't really do this kind of modular patching between the DAW and plugins in that way in Logic. Bitwig might be able to achieve things more like this, possibly, as it has a modular environment. Likewise Ableton Live with Max...
Solution Guilian Posted April 1 Author Solution Share Posted April 1 Thx for your replies Guys. After a long search, I could find a Plugin which does exactly what I was looking for 🙂 It's called dpMeter and is free!
des99
That's a metering plugin, as far as I can see. How can it set a parameter of a different plugin based on what it meters?
JakobP
Says it can "record metering results as automation data." which looks interesting... 🙂
