Ivan
Great Forum, I work in a studio where I often have to export vocals from a session (Logic 7) and do some Melodyne pitch correction and then import them back into my Logic file. I export each track individually from start to finish, do the pitch correction on another computer and then bring them back into Logic hoping that they when imported at the beginning of the file (song position 1 1 1 1) that they should be lined up perfectly as they were before I exported them, BUT that hasn't been the case, I always have to move the files around to line them back up to get them into time with the song and I don't know why I have to do this when I exported the entire tracks they should keep their smpte position correct??? There has to been a full proof way of insuring that they stay smpte perfect when doing this. Is there also a way to line up the audio from the new pitch corrected file with the previous file in the arrange, something like matching the start times of the transients to each other???? This would be of great help seeing as how I sometimes have to do 40+ tracks of this at a time. Many Thanks, Ivan

Ivan
I melodyne on a PC in another studio where I it is rewired into Nuendo 3.2. Yea, we gotta go ahead and get Melodyne for Logic. I used the export all tracks as audio files option, but it still seemed like it wasn't lined up when I imported back into logic, maybe my cursor wasn't totally at (1 1 1 1) when I exported and that is why it was out of cinch, I actually ended up setting all the audio files start to (0 4 1 1, my song starts at (1 1 1 1) and everything lined up, go figure. I wonder if this was a mistake on my part or if all files when exporting as tracks as audio files export from start time 0 4 11 regardless of song start time??? fader8
There has to been a full proof way of insuring that they stay smpte perfect when doing this. Well, that's a coincidence as I just finished posting to the Celemony forum regarding losing broadcast wave file timestamps when saving an edited file. Sounds like it would really improve your workflow too if they fixed this. Even their "Spot to Pro Tools" function is a bit clumsy. This would be of great help seeing as how I sometimes have to do 40+ tracks of this at a time. Good grief Ivan. Vocalists that bad????
