stephentrask
When loading the Apple Loop "conga loop 01" and others in that series, I am prompted that an overview can't be saved because I don't have sufficient privleges. Any know WTF is going on?
nagal
Go into Disk Util and do a repair on permissions. That will probably solve it.
Justin-Ch
Locate an Apple Loop in the Finder. Highlight it then press Command,i to Get Info. On the info panel go down to the Ownership & Permissions section. What does it say? It should say You Can Read & Write. Have a look in the Details section too. As said above, do a Repair Disk Permissions for your whole system with the Disk Utility app. Restart your Mac & see if they are ok now. Let us know. Subtonic
I've had this same issue for this and a number of loops. Repairing permissions hasn't fixed it. Under "Get Info" it has read only permissions for system, user, and "everyone."

David Nahmani
Are you guys on a computer that has several user accounts? If yes, I would recommend saving your project and including assets, that would solve the problem. If not, I can't imagine why you'd get that problem. There are no permissions to repair, you shouldn't have that problem in the first place on a system with a single (admin) account.
Subtonic
Are you able to change them there? Yes, they can be changed manually, but we're also talking about a whole lot of loops. From what I can tell it's only the Apple Loops in the Soundtrack Pro folder that have this problem. All the other factory installed loops have Read & Write privileges. I've installed the Logic 8 content twice thinking that the 2nd time might fix this problem. It doesn't.
chrisbrownsound
If you Get Info for the folder containing your loops, under "details" you can use "Apply to enclosed items" to re-write the permissions for all the items in the folder.
Subtonic
Ah - so simple I didn't even think of it. Only problem is that I can't figure out how to do this in Leopard. I see gear near the bottom, but it's grayed out. You can still click it and see those options, but it doesn't seem to change anything. EDIT: Spoke too soon. It works, but I wasn't patient enough. Thanks your the help.
stephentrask
I have tried all remedies and there is only one user account on my computer. Yes, it is only the loops in the Soundtrack Pro folder causing problems.
Subtonic
Yeah - I spoke too soon when I said I spoke too soon. I've only changed permissions with Conga Loop 01. Everything else is still Read. Here's the other thing. I don't get the insufficient permissions error now, BUT Conga Loop 01 does not match the tempo of the project. It did before I changed the permissions on it. I think the best way to solve this problem is to simply check the "Don't Show Me This Error Again" box. If Logic is going to generate the overview anyway then I don't see how it would be bad if it isn't saved with the file.
