Can't Hear Guitar Effects in Logic Pro X

My guitar is being fed into LPX via Audiobox USB. The signal shows in LPX mixer and I have enabled channel record, but I only hear the dry (i.e unprocessed) guitar.

How can I hear the effects in LPX when I play my guitar?

If I record the guitar and then add effects to the channel, I CAN hear those. Just not when I play into LPX.

@des99 posted while I was typing this, but I'll go ahead and say what I was going to say. In addition to turning on Audio->General->Software Monitoring, make sure the input monitoring button is on for the track. Adjust Audio->Devices->I/O Buffer Size if needed to get suitable latency, and/or use Low Latency Monitoring Mode (available in the Record menu and optionally in the control bar). You may also want to adjust the mix knob to 'full playback' on your interface to avoid sync issues between the direct monitor and software monitored signals.
