Walnut
Hi, I am looking for a good pair of headphones that have a good amount of bass. I have a pair of old Skullcandy Crushers that I have used for a long time and surprisingly have managed to create good mixes with them. I love turning up the bass just a little bit on them while recording drums etc. I just enjoy the experience. However, I am not happy with the overall tone and quality of the cans. I have tried AKG open backs and am not a fan, they are super flat and I do not really enjoy that. If anyone has any recommendations I am all ears. Ideally I would like either open or closed Bluetooth and wired Over Ear Not too hot Super comfortable Not to clampy Price around 150€ or so I have used Sony headphones in the past albeit I cannot remember which models and I loved them. FLH3
2 classics: the Sony 7506 and the Beyerdynamic DT770 pro (or DT990 if you want it open) Edited May 26 by FLH3
David Nahmani
I used to have the Sennheiser HD 580 but they were too open to me, they always sounded like the sounds were coming from a distance, in front of me, rather than right in my ears as I was used to with other headphones. Probably great for mixing classical music but for rock and pop not so much IMO. I've tried the Sony MDR7506 but they were way too clampy for my skull, not comfortable at all, and I find them too aggressive in the high end. I finally got a pair of Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro (80 Ohms) and I love them. Super comfortable, I find myself forgetting that I have them on late at night, even when I'm not listening to anything! And I find that they give me the sound I want. Not the flattest headphones of the bunch, but they work for me. And they're not crazy expensive.
CwC Studio
Have a look at the Blue Lola headphones. They are closed back with big cushions, over ear. They have a good sound and are a little hyped in the bass but provide decent clarity in the mids and highs. I like more of a flat response (using sennheiser hd650 at the moment), so for me they are a little too bassy. Can’t say I got hot in them but you may want to try them on before you buy.
