Bennett
Hey ppl, This is my first post, but unfortunatly its not a nice one. I think my copy of logic is damaged. Bassically the last time i closed it, it gave me an error message saying something like... 'bad read/write logic.pro.cs.' .... or something like that. Anyway, everytime i open logic pro now it always comes up with an error message saying that it has quit unexpectantly and then i try to close it an it crashes the whole computer. Im using a Powerbook G4 OSX 10.4.9 - Logic Pro 7.2.3 If nobody can help me with fixing the problem, i would just like to know how to compleatly remove the whole program, getting rid of any existance of it... so i can reinstall it and see if that fixes the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated because i have to do quite a bit of homework on it and it needs to be in pretty soon. Thanks in advance. David Nahmani
1) Quit Logic 2) Move ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.logic.pro.plist and ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.logic.pro.cs to the desktop. 3) Start Logic Does it work? Also, anything connected to the computer when that happens (control surface? MIDI keyboard? USB MIDI device of any kind? Hard drives? Audio interfaces?...) Bennett
sorry... my bad.. i copied it to the desktop... so i deleted it out of that folder, opened logic.. it said something about no prefernces and it worked.. i could use it again.. but then i closed it, and it said something about saving preferences and i selected dont save. i tried to open it again and now its back to the original problem. thanks
David Nahmani
it said something about saving preferences It would be good if you told us exactly what it said. It shouldn't say anything at all. And you should definitely have a ".cs" preference file.
Bennett
thats the thing.. the first error i got was 'Bad read/write error com.apple.logic.pro.cs' and then it never worked since... im thinking that somehow it might have got deleted somehow and thats the reason why it wont work? thanks
David Nahmani
No, deleting that file should be harmless.
