steinweg
I feel very at home in LPX and probably always will, but there are a bunch of very specific things that i only can properly accomplish in Ableton. So i want to become "fluent" in both DAWs (not just Logic). Therefore i am currently trying to get my workflow in ableton (shortcuts, macros etc.) as close to my Logic workflow as possible. Has anyone else ever done a similar thing before? Trying to recreate Logic shortcuts etc.? Tips and Advice very welcome!

scg
As far as I know, Ableton doesn't have a direct corollary to Logic's customizable key commands. There is however key mapping (command-K), which allows for mapping at least some functions, and although I've never tried it, I believe you can remap menu commands at the OS level. Here is some info on those features. That said, while this may not be the advice you're looking for, I think it might be as easy (perhaps easier) just to learn Ableton's interface as is and not try to map it to Logic's.
Atlas007
If you are ready to learn Keyboard Maestro, according to this post (on StackExchange), one could program KM to issue a different command to address a specific action in discrete app (Logic vs Abbleton)… Edited September 15 by Atlas007

Yeah, for instance using the Auto-Pan, the MIDI Arpeggiator device has more features like e.g. adjusting the rate in ms, imo the Audio-Warping also works better than Flex-Time (which i am using a lot), you can assign LFOs to modulate ANY plugin parameter that you want (which is crazy i think) and there are almost no issues with External Sidechain Compressors and Plugin Latency (also with use of lookahead), which i also heavily rely on... But there are also things about ableton that i absolutely dislike, like the lack of customizability (shortcuts are a joke compared to logic), which is a huge downside... A couple things you mention might have reasonably similar parallels in Logic (e.g. the Modulator MIDI plugin for modulating arbitrary parameters). Agree about the plugin latency issues though - that's the main reason I use Ableton along with Logic. But similar to you, there are many Logic features I miss in Ableton (track hiding and disabling, flex pitch, deep MIDI editing, etc.). It's all about tradeoffs! (And using the right tool or DAW for the job, whatever it might be.)

(And using the right tool or DAW for the job, whatever it might be.) Oh, i didn't knew that the Modulator plugin could do that, that is awesome! Will try to transfer my logic shortcuts in the following days, but i already know, that there are certain commands that are just impossible in ableton. Or even if they are possible, because KM or BTT cannot differentiate between different commands for different editors, they will therefore break other functions in exchange... Thing is, i have highly customized shortcuts, that are functioning beyond awesome in logic, but in ableton it is very frustrating to program certain things... You cannot even zoom with alt + Magic Mouse Scroll...
