grumblepig
Hi all - very naive question, but... I've just grabbed a new SSD for use as man backup for all my audio - Logic, Pro Tools etc. ChatAI suggests using EXFAT format. I've no idea what that is, but shall I go with it? (And of course please feel free to move this to another part of the forum is this isn't the right place...)
Solution zipb Posted September 15 Solution Share Posted September 15 (edited) No. HFS or APFS are Mac formats. Use one of these. Edited September 15 by zipb typo

MikeRobinson
Use the one that Apple suggests by default. APFS offers the ability to divide the disk into multiple "volumes" which then appear as separate "mount points" (desktop icons). But this is a logical subdivision of the space, not a physical one. Very handy. Much, much cleaner than messy "physical partitions." Clearly (IMHO) the appropriate choice.
