Ping Pong delay a-like in Live?

I seem to remember that Stereo Delay has a ping-pong preset. At least, it did in Logic 7...

There's nothing magical about that - even if there is no such preset, you have anything you need with stereo delay: Feedback and especially cross feedback, and in the extended view you can choose which channel at the input goes where... Takes less than a minute to get what you want.

I was messing with the Logic 8's stereo delay last nite, and found many cool variations of ping-pong delay using the "groove" settings and cross-feedback (both features are absent in most stereo delays). Just try some of the presets and tweak as needed. The lo and hi pass filters are quite useful as well, and having the delays lock to tempo eliminates a lot of rhythmic sloppiness. I really think Logic thought of everything on this one! ;o)

the filter delay in Live is amazing and I still haven't found anything as cool and as easy to use. The way you can choose the delay by beat grouping and have an eq curve for each is great.

Delay designer might get there, but it looks like a lot more work to achieve the same thing.

There is no reason why you shouldn't use more than one delay plug in. Send to two different busses panned left & right with different delay plug-ins at different settings. Have a simple reverb plug-in after each one so the left delay is in a different space to the right. While your at it add some chorus or ensemble effect to the reverb .. etc, etc, etc.

All stuff you could do with even just an old version of Logic like Gold 5.
