AllyMusicGirl
Any one have a review - used it in Logic Studio? I know this may get moved but it's a wasteland over there in the gear section... Thanks forum!

Dr Dave
That's a pretty disappointing review. Has anyone else used Fab Four? I'm inclined to think the guitars are better than carrmar found them. I've met Laurence Juber - the Wings guitarist who did the guitars for Fab Four - a number of times and I know he was very happy with the results (as well as for using tens of thousands of dollars worth of vintage gear). He knows his way around a studio, and he uses Logic, so I would think he would know how to sample a guitar for it. So, anyone else using it? AllyMusicGirl
Dr.Dave - I agree, from the online demos it looks great. Do you have a copy? Do you like it? Ewww! and you met Laurence Juber! Awesome!
Dr Dave
Hey AWG, Yeah, Laurence is a really nice guy. Very approachable and generous with his time. And I guess I don't have to tell you that he is a phenomenal guitar player. I wish I had a copy of Fab Four but I couldn't do justice to it right now, so I'm just dreaming. And hoping to hear a project that someone actually did with it. If you are a fan, check out LJ's forum on his web site: http://laurencejuber.com/forum/phpBB2/ Enjoy! Morerecords
Temporary sectratry is one of my all time favorite songs. People knock Wings, buyt why? "Temporary Temporary" Brilliant.
Matt Mayfield
I heard that song for the first time a year ago ($1.00 sale on LPs at the local record store) and it was one of the weirdest songs I've ever heard. Neutrally weird for me, not good or bad, just very original and unusual. I've collected nearly all Macca's albums and listen to them constantly in hopes that his utter genius melody writing will rub off on my compositions. carrmar
I should have been nicer in my initial review. If people find the guitars expressive and life-like, who am I to argue? I apologize to anyone I offended.
fader8
Temporary sectratry is one of my all time favorite songs. People knock Wings, buyt why? "Temporary Temporary" Brilliant. If I'm remembering correctly, that was the Wings album that was recorded at home with the mics plugged right into the multitrack tape machine. No console. All the production on that record was very minimalist.
Dr Dave
Temporary Secretary is on McCartney II. I believe that Paul plays all the instruments on that one.

oceantracks
The guitars in F4 are meant to be played with a midi guitar. Any illusions of performing with them on a keyboard should be forgotten...although that could be said of any guitar library save for those which use sampled phrases, which F4 does not. If you do not play guitar, then half of the cost of the library is out the window, and you must figure you are spending the money to buy the drum sounds and assorted oddities. Some of those are very cool. The guitar sounds themselves are not accurate to those which they represent but that may be fine with you if you aren't trying duplicate the sounds on Beatles records and just plain need some sampled guitar sounds here and there. All in all if money is no object the library is worthwhile for the sounds it does do well (like the harmonium) but is a lot of money based on price/performance ratio to most folks. I do know that Doug Rogers, who I worked with on this project, cares deeply about his work and takes great efforts to make everything they release as good as he can make it, so any shortcomings are not due to lack of effort. Dr Dave
What a fantastic quote! Do you have a source where he said or wrote that? Best Uli Hi Uli, Well I looked and I can't find my source. I've been using this one so long I've forgotten where it comes from. I think it might be the Poetics of Music, but it could also be from his memoirs with Kraft. I'll keep looking and let you know if I find it. Dave
