emilenitrate
I'm still on 10.4.9 and running Logic 8 plus a whole mess of plugins and auxillary programs, like ReCycle and Reason 4. Everything pretty much works and I'd like to leave that all alone but I'm thinking about moving to Safari 3 as potential Mac virus vulnerability becomes more of a concern. I think it's available as a beta version if you don't update to 10.4.11. Any thoughts? - Emile

Matt Mayfield
Good precaution to ask. I haven't tried it but can't see any way that upgrading Safari could have any effect on Logic. Upgrading the OS, yes, but probably not Safari. So far as I've read, Safari does not have weaknesses anything remotely resembling the problems with IE on Windows. With many versions of IE, for example, you can just *visit* a web site, not choosing to install anything or clicking on anything, and evil software will be installed on your computer. It's that bad. The worst thing around for Mac is something that tries to fool you into installing it (and enter your admin password), and I've only heard of one of those. The Mac is still a very tight ship.
