victorjohn
Ok so I am in pattern play mode so I can jam my patters to my track. I have laid down a good long sequence of patterns and now am listening back. Everything is quantized and cut to the number as far as bars and beats for switching patterns. i have UB in one shot mode. When it hits the top of a midi region it skips a beat and runs thru one entire 32 step pattern off one beat, and then corrects itself the next time it gets triggered for a patterns. Am I doing something wrong, or is this some kind of buggy weirdness? thanks.
steveH
Tried to duplicate your experience and can't... it works fine here! Be sure that your initial MIDI note isn't slightly early. Try quantizing the region in the region parameter box.. other than that.... I don't know what's causing the prob! Does it trigger properly in other modes? Morerecords
If you are trying to "jam" your sequences, you might want to do it with touch tracks, as you can set them to anticipate the next sequence when you play early (like ableton)
steveH
UltraBeat does that too: Toggle on Step One!
victorjohn
Hmm. Well I tried toggle on step 1 mode and it goes silent one pattern every other one. I thought I tried yesteday, but I went in and re-quantized the notes and even used the region quantize. Still skipping. I wonder what this could be? Morerecords
if it goes silent, then maybe you are alternating triggering a blnk sequence and a real one?
victorjohn
if it goes silent, then maybe you are alternating triggering a blnk sequence and a real one? Nah its a pattern that has notes, as it plays fine in one of the modes. Hmm, I am wondering if this is a bug of some sort or not... but I can't find too many people use use Ultrabeat in this mode. victorjohn
Wow, this is truly a frustrating experience. I guess the only option is to use the midi file drag and drop. I just bought the macprovideo tutorial for UB so I can follow along and make sure I am doing everything step by step. Maybe I will try in a new file or session... i was so into this track tho I want to finish it!!!!
victorjohn
So am I still the only one who experiences this beat skip thing? My friend Matt has had the same problem, we are wondering what could cause Ultrabeat to lose sync, then snap back to it. This is happening in pattern mode.
