Emoney
I'm just really starting to dive into Logic 7.01 for audio and midi instead of using PT for audio and Logic 6.4.2 just for midi sequencing. I remember that in Logic 6 if I pressed a key (or combination) and it did something that I wasn't expecting, I could go to the key command window and type in that key command in the search field and it would find what actual command belonged to that key combo. I've been trying to do that in Logic 7 and it seems like I can only search by command name. Is that true, or am I missing something?
David Nahmani
In Logic Pro 7, when you are in the key command window, see that big table with the headers "Command, Key, MIDI"? Just click anywhere in that table to make it active (light blue underline all around the borders). Then type your key command and if it's programmed, it will appear and be highlighted. David Nahmani
It's even easier than that. Just click anywhere in the "command, key, MIDI table" and type your key command. If the key command you type already exist it will jump to the screen and be highlighted in blue!
Emoney
I see. My memory about Logic 6 was hazy. I didn't have to enter a key command in the search field. I would just open the key command window and type a command. It works the same way here in Logic 7. Sorry about that. I should get more sleep. David Nahmani
No problem. It works the same way as long as the correct part of the window (that table) is active. Otherwise, if, for example, the searchbox is active, it won't work!
