mcpepe
Hello. I have been taken a look at the Sound Synthesis Master Class by Peter Schwartz in this forum. It looks awesome, BUT i dont live in LA (nor in the USA), I live in Spain. Is there any book or web that shows synthesis with the Logic virtual synths? Thanks
i
Hi. Logic Instruments and Effects manual has some pretty good synthesis workshops. i
mcpepe
The ES2 and Sculpture manual seems pretty good, but what about the more simple synths to begin with?
Morerecords
you should invest in a simple old Synth like a Roland MKs50, something cheap and "basic" and spend some time with it. You will eventually get to where you can think of a sound and then program it on the synth. Nothing beats hardware for this type of thing, and there are lots of old cheap analog synths for learning. Between that and an online forum or two, and you're good..I hope that helps you.
fader8
If you have an SOS subscription, the Synth Secrets series was excellent. This links to all of them: http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/allsynthsecrets.htm
ski
mcpepe, It would be a loooong way to travel to attend my class for sure! But thanks for your interest. The Logic plugin manual has some well-written information on basic synthesis principles and techniques, including some tutorials. Cheers!
Melodious Punk
Hey Fader, the synth secrets series was free for me. I found it a while back, and read through the whole series (whew...) Bloody brilliant I say! A must for everybody into sound, I think.
mcpepe
Thanks for the help! I will have to buy a CHEAP synth (cheap is the important word) to begin with programming. This was the main reason i was thinking in logic synths first. I have seen today in a web the new Waldorf Blofeld and looks pretty good, complete and cheap, so maybe i will make myself a gift for Christmas. Thanks again.
