jera
It's the first time I'm trying to add a synth to a song I was mixing. The thing is I have Logic set to 1024 samples and after I record the parts I want with the synth, I go to the Piano Roll and make everything tight to the grid but it still sounds off beat. What can I do to solve this problem?
Jope
It might depend of the used synth sound, especially its envelopes. For "soft" attacks "tight to the grid" is too late. If notes are retriggered and the sound has a long release phase as well, the envelopes reach their maxima earlier after short rests when the level hasn't yet reached zero. Try to play relying on what you hear. If you find some adjustments necessary afterwards, again do it according to your hearing rather than to the visible grid. 1024 samples is a large buffer size, but it should not affect accuracy in playback. muses
Just out of curiosity, what is your plugin delay comensation set to? I'm wondering if maybe you have some inserts that are throwing things off. Then again, this may have nothing to do with your issue.
