MIDI controll with Yamaha MO8

I have recently started to set up a home studio with Logic Studio, and Apogee Duet, and a Yamaha MO8. The Apogee only has two XLR, and two 1/4" inputs. I am trying to link my keyboard to the Logic software to use it as a MIDI controller and also a stand alone synthesizer for my rehearsal studio. I have plugged a USB cable into the keyboard and then into my iMac. I need some help regarding assigning the keyboard for use as a MIDI controller.
