Logic Lexan Overlay for Mackie Control

Musicianista

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I have a Mackie Control running with Logic Pro 8. All seems fine except that it didn't come with a Logic overlay as I expected.

It came with the Steinberg SX/Nuendo, Sonar/Cakewalk and the used MOTU Digi Performer that I peeled off carefully.

I need to know where I can get one sent to Australia or if someone has one that they don't need and may want to sell or swap for one of mine?

Thanks in advance...

Musicianista - how do you like your Mackie?

I know this was not directed at me but I LOVE my MCU Pro. It has completely changed the way I work. Sometimes only having 8 channels on it is frustrating but I plan on getting an Extender soon. This is hands down the best investment I have made into my home studio. The integration between the MCU and Logic is the best I have used so far.

I also have high regards for Mackie's Tech support unlike a lot of people I have had extremely good dealings with them.

CO SIGN!

My banjo Center Dude told me to demo i and knew Id never let it leave. He was right. I havent used a GOOD control surface in so long (Either been on consols or had a Pro Control which was TERRIBLE) that I forgot how good it could be. Plus using the Function selects for screensets is the s#!+.

My Mackie is not an MCU. Its the original Mackie Control that came out after the Logic Control, so it definitely needs a lexan.

A studio life changing experience!

The integration with Logic keystrokes/track selection and arming etc makes the whole experience faster and more enjoyable.

Mixing is fun now. Not a mouse-fest. I should have bought one ages ago.

These old ones are pretty cheap now and pretty much still do the same things.

Me likey! :D

I have one of the originals and I can't believe I ever mixed without it, but with Logic 8, the save button doesn't work. You hit it, it flashes off then back on again (signifying that it hasn't saved), weird and a pain, but survivable....

Yeah, I found that too.

Still, no biggie. My Save instinct has me automatically reaching for the keyboard anyway.

I tried to re-map the Save button on the Mackie - BIG MISTAKE.

It screwed up a bunch of other functions and still didn't work! I had to trash the logicpro.cs preferences and reboot to get Mr Mackie back to normal.

The other thing I have found is that I have a duplicate MC in the Control Surface Setup whenever I first start Logic. I delete it and all is well.

And if I have a midi track armed and selected the Mackie transport etc plays notes thru that channel. What a vacuum. (It sucks)

Anyone else??
