sir00
Hello, I am looking to get a decent set of monitors for a low price. I am looking at the M Audio MX5a monitors. Just wondering if anyone had any experience with these. Also if they would be ideal for dance music production? Thanks in advance.
JigMD80
I personally have the Alesis M1 Active 620's and I think they sound great. The have a slight hiss from the tweeter, but none the less, they work very well for me. They ran me about $360 new from musiciansfriend.com (I had a 10% discount coupon). Well priced, and sound great to me. I am a newbie in pro audio though, so get some more opinions before you make any purchases. Here is the link to them at musiciansfriend: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Alesis-M1-Active-620-100W-Active-NearField-Reference-Monitors?sku=603227

David Nahmani
Thanks for the advice people. I think im gonna go with the KRK RP5s. They look like the best for my situation. Small studio, low budget, decent sound...... Thanks again Matt That's the ones I use in the classroom. Great choice for the (incredibly low) price. KRK is a great brand. Much better choice than the M-Audio you mentioned, which I heard too - but wasn't a big fan of.
