osumosan
Any way to save more than 10 project file backups in the folder? I pretty much saved all of them when I was in 7. I can't seem to find any preference for setting the number of backup files Logic can save to greater than 10. This is could be a major bummer for me. Perhaps another instance of apple thinking it knows better what I want than I do myself. (Unless of course I'm overlooking something).
David Nahmani
No, in Logic 8 you get 10 automatic back-ups and that's it, no more options. But you should only use those backups if something weird happened in between the last time few times you saved (so up to the last 10 times). If you need more, I recommend making them manually, saving the project at much larger intervals (I like 20mn) and giving them incremental names (song1, song2, song3...). http://www.logicprohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=1635
Eric J
In addition to David's suggestion, which I do myself, you can also save a copy of each file with a date. So I call the file "My Mix - 11-28-2007-01", and then a second save that day will be "My Mix - 11-28-2007-02" and so on. Then the next day its "My Mix - 11-29-2007-01" This way, not only do you have multiple copies in case something happens to the file, but you can always go back to a particular session if need be. This can be especially helpful if you screw something up accidentally (or have clients that like to change their mind frequently), and need to go back and look at settings from a previous session. chrisbrownsound
Yes there is. There's a hack and it works perfectly. I discovered it on this very forum. Open Terminal and enter this command: defaults write com.apple.logic.pro MaxBackupsToKeep 100 This will allow 100 backups.

Quicksilver is better! Using both is best. I stopped using Quicksilver when the developer bailed out on fixing bug found in 10.5. Anyway, after using SpotLight for launching apps I'm quite used to it now, even if I heard the Quicksilver issues have been fixed by other developers. Command-space is your friend!
