how do I see the length of song in seconds

I see the smte time, and the locators but what tells me the position relative to actual min/sec etc.

Place the playhead at the end of the song and look at the first line top left of the Transport displays: that's the position of the playhead in SMPTE time.

You can also replace the bar count in the ruler with a time count (or have both). On the far right side of the ruler is an eigth note (if you have it set to show bar count) with a down arrow. Click on that and select "Time" or "Time and Bar" or "Bar and Time (as you prefer). The ruler will now include a min/sec count. IS that what you are looking for?
