Konkakt 2 and Battery 3

I am pretty much a lurker here and occasionally throw in the comment here and there but now I have a question of my own. I am getting ready to make my switch back to Mac and Logic (long story full of heart ache and money). I am having a hard time deciding if I really need to keep K2 and B3. I have used K2 in the past simply to play sample libraries (the stock ones) and nothing more. B3 I like and use but reading up on Ultrabeat (which I never used when I was using LP7) sounds like it does everything I need and probably then some.

I am trying to keep my setup lean and mean so I do not get bogged down with too many choices so I am tempted to ditch these and use the cash so I can get Studio versus Express.

I am just a hobbyist doing my own thing so this is not a commercial endeavor where I might need the plugins for compatibility with other projects. B3 was an updated from my NI Essentials so I would still have access to the B2 library for use in Ultrabeat.

Opinions/comments/flames? :D

Kontakt and Battery compliment Logic very well. Battery is a very capable drum sampler, while Ultrabeat is a very capable drum synth which can load samples into one of its oscillators. Big difference there. Logic depends on EXS to be its drum "sampler", which is fine, but Battery's dedicated percussion interface is so handy.

Regarding Kontakt, even if you don't access its advanced features, having it is a benefit as you have access to a wider array of third party, well programmed sample sets. Same for Battery actually. So all in all, even if this is just a hobby for you, I'd keep both active.
