BouncyJones
Hey, spent the last evening looking at all available keyboard controllers under 500 bucks. Here are my choices: - Novation Compact 25SL or 49SL - Speed Dial looks like a sweet dial. Fairly expensive. - Novation Remote 25SL or 37SL - Has more options than the Compact? But doesn't have speed dial. - PCR-M30 or PCR 300 - Both have an extra 7 keys, but no interface on keyboard, so reduced to writing out templates or memorizing. PCR-M30 is much cheaper than my other options. I have zero familiarity with keyboard controllers, and would like to get something to replace my honkin 61 key Yamaha, non midi controller, which takes up my whole desk. I believe all the ones above have aftertouch, which I've never used, but would like to have I guess. The only other option I'd consider would be the BCF or BCR by Behringer and put my keyboard on a stand, but I'd rather have an all-in-one if I could. I'm open to any and all suggestions. Cheers! consagrado
i keeping on hearing bad news about the novation....but i recently spoke to a sound engineer from Cash Money records here in the states and he tells me that he uses it all the time...and loves it....(he does use Logic 8 too) so i would try out the 25SL.... amundsen
It's nice to have a keyboard integrated with faders and I have bought the 25SL for this purpose but I have also bought the Behringer BCF2000 and for automation control I use the BCF all the time because of the motorized sliders. They are a little noisy but you can prevent them to move when playing back. For mixing purposes the faders of the Remote SL are too small. However I like the encoders and the display. A Remote SL with long and motorized faders would be a killer! Novation?
