I remember when I first started traveling/DJing about 1999. In Italy & the UK etc... any stereo or audio equipment would make that noise a few seconds before someones phone would ring. I thought it was crazy. Then I got a GSM/SIM phone... and now mine does it thru my Wurly & Rhodes all the time. It seems even some freq close to my phone will make that noise now.
