Novation X-Station 49

I like it, I still haven't figured out how to get the transport controls to work with logic. The synths in Logic are much better. I am waiting to see how it works with Reason Malstrom and B4. They control layout could use some more color coded lights to show values. Other than that it is worthy. Especially the XLR Phantom inputs (2) and the effects. The sound output is clean through my towers, tube amp, and bass amp.

Are you using LP8 and Leopard?? I have a Xiosynth 25 from novation and I think that all novations hardware uses the same drivers ... I was just wondering if there were any conflicts with the new OS or App.

 

Anyways I like the Xiosynth. I wish I woulda saved a bit longer and gotten the 49. I have heard some say that the Xiosynths sounds are a bit better that the Xstations (better filter section is the main thing that I've heard). They are both based on the KS synth engine so I'm guessing that they are more similar than not. On the downside it has one XLR and one 1/4" interface, rather than 2 combo jacks. It's a bit cheaper though.

I've had the Xiosynth 49 for a week now and its awesome to me.

 

I wasn't expecting the synth to be so good. I've create some templates for it (Arturia Minimoog and Moog Modular).

Navigating around can be aggravating at first, but eventually you'll get the knack. The only real complaint is that I wish they could have spread out the knobs; they're a bit too close together for my fat fingaz.

 

One more complaint...the template editor which can be downloaded from the novation website is crashy as all get-out. So you should save your template as often as you can.
