NoPro
I am looking to record a guitar using a POD (which as I understand is a DI in itself). I would like to record using an avalon as the direct imput. I will select the instrument imput (DI) as the option on the avalon as opposed to the mic imput. The POD is a line level output. My question is...Is the DI imput of a the avalon also line level? is it +4. I looked online at avalon specs and don't see what the level of DI imput is. David Nahmani
No, DI input and line input are not the same level or the same impedance, and if you use one instead of the other you will have distort the sound. You don't usually run a line level (pod's out) through a mic preamp (avalon).
NoPro
I would rather mic and amp with a 57/avalon for the guitar...but it's too loud for the neighbors. What wyuld be the best solution for direct recording with the POD given the equipt? any suggestions to make a line level to line level connection? rosetta 800 with 2 avail imputs (XLR connections coming from DSUBs) mic pre's with DI instrument imputs options..thanks
