Zipper
We are recording 48 (usually about 25-35) tracks on a weekly basis and swithced from Logic 7 to Logic 8. Upgraded from Tiger to Leopard. We started getting random "lagging" on tracks.. I am talking about the same effect what you got back in the day when cassette tapes got old and worn...lagging.. I am trying to figure out what the problem is: Amount of RAM: 2G in our Dual 2.7GHz PowerMac G5. Audio interface: 2 MOTU 2408mk3's OS: Leopard (is it too much for our 2Gs?) Channels come from Light Viper to Yamaha DM-2000 and external MOTU preamps... Please help... I am thinking about going back to Logic 7 for capturing if I can't get this figured out... Thanks, Z
ski
When you say "lagging" do you mean that you're hearing a pitch change? Wow/flutter? If so, that's a clocking issue, for sure. If not, please provide further details (and even better, post an example if you can).

Thanks, Z Is your Plugin Delay Compensation (in the Preferences>Audio, General Tab) set to 'all'? Plugin latency will cause a track to lag, like I think you are describing, unless you tell the DAW to compensate. Clocking issues would affect the whole audio stream, not likely individual tracks. Zipper
Yes...it is a wowing effect where a pitch fluctuates randomly... I will look into the clocking issue first thing in the morning.. any other thoughts..? Could the low amount of memory create a bottleneck in the flow of things..? Thanks for your help thus far...
