tele333
I'm really sorry to post such a lame question, but I'm going nuts... I've read both the manual and David's excellent book to no avail... Logic will not recognize my Korg 01/w. I know that midi is being sent from the korg. I'm using a MOTO ultralight, I'm not sure if the problem is with the ultralight or (something I"m doing) in Logic. To test the motu, I've connected the midi out of the korg to midi in of the motu, then connected the midi out of the motu back to the korg...but the korg does not respond...does this mean that the motu is not sending out midi? If so, how do i fix this? If not, is there another test to determine if the motu is the problem? Clue: when i try to record midi from the O1/W, the only midi being recorded is the metronome (and the logic midi in indicator appears to show the metronome notes as inputs). Question: How do I get logic to accept midi in from the korg and not the metronome. Is there a test that i can do to test if midi is being sent from the motu? Again, sorry...I know this is a very noob question for the likes of most folks who hang at this forum... I've learned so much from this forum...so thanks. tele... Dude read this BS im dealing with but b4 you do that. I know how to fix that Metronome issude. Hit command 8 (environment) click on that arrow that brings you to the diff. layers. find (All Objects)..select it..then find MIDI CLICK to the left of it you should see Port(s) if it says ALL click the arrow next to it and make sure it reads OFF..ok....heres mine..... I am having a note sustain problem: I just bought a Motif XS 8 and im using the motif as an external instrument in logic pro 8.0.1 (to record MIDI). Im routing the motif via MIDI to an M-box 2. Here’s the problem: When I set a loop in logic and play simple staccato notes those notes are sustaining when the loop comes back at Bar 1. Why is this? I have talked to numerous pple including the Logic Support pple over the phone they didn’t even know. This has been going on for about a week now im really eager to see what the problem is. shivermetimbers
Actually, Leave the click icon and disconnect the cable. Then connect a cable from your physical output to the sequencer input. Select an Audio Instrument track and insert and instrument and it should play back for you. Plugging the midi out of your keyboard and then back in is rather pointless. It is already connected internally (Known as 'Local on') to avoid a certain echo of sustain, it is best to set your keyboard to 'local off' if you are going to use it in and out of Logic. Some people do not pay attention to that info.
tele333
I did turn set it to local off...that's how i could tell that midi was being sent from the korg. (the korg would only repspond when a midi cable was connected.) I disconnected the cable last night...did the trick. But I'm still not getting midi to logic. I'm trying to work with the physical input, but there are no ports listed, just "caps lock keyboard" and SUM... How do I add ports to the physical input? Shiver...thanks a lot. tele
