Deaf Perception
Hey guys, I've encountered a weird problem recently when trying to export all my tracks as audio files. For certain tracks, the ending gets cut off (approx. 2 seconds). This only happens for a select number of tracks. Has anybody had a similar problem? What can be done about this? Thanks! Whitehouse17
I can concur ... I have the same issue (as have others judging by threads on this forum). I am currently scanning through them to find a solution. I haven't found one yet ... let us know if you find one it is extremely frustrating
David Nahmani
Try recording a little bit of silence at the end of that audio track about 1 or 2 bars after where it cuts off.
Whitehouse17
That seems to have solved it ... strange phenomenon, but glad to have a work around ... thanks
David Nahmani
Sure ...whatever makes it work!
mclight
Ok - this works - but isn't that crazy? I mean, why is Logic doing that? Cutting of fade outs of samples? Is there a threshold that has to be met in order to trigger export-calculations? If I look at this solution I have to say NO. Anyhow - thanx for the workaround! EDIT: Just tried it - and it does NOT work for me. I have a string-pad with a reverb fading out and it should end at 3:58 but Logic cuts it off at 3:54 (where the reverb is still audible - but very low though). I've recorded silence behind 3:58 for 2 bars and Logic still cuts off at 3:54. This is annoying ...
mclight
So ... I've tried now restarting, exporting in different audio formats, changing export options on normalizing etc.. Bottomline: always cut off! Only workaround: place a NON-SILENT audio-file behind the cut-off one. This is so amateurish ... but it works. I have to tell now the studio, that on 3 tracks there's an ugly dummy sound in the end which I kindly ask them to remove before going on.
Whitehouse17
That is weird! ... and frustrating! ... the work-arounds worked for me. I wonder if in putting your "dummy sound" in you make sure it is after the whole proper song/track has ended so that it seems quite obvious to them as well (this may be what you have already done)
mclight
I don't follow you. Sorry - I'm not a native speaker ... What I did do was putting a part of an audio region containing a small part of a synth-phrase right behind the end of the region being cut off. With this trick it finally worked. But I feel like a stupid donkey delivering such tracks to a studio ...
simpleton
I feel like a stupid donkey delivering such tracks to a studio ... you could trim the ends off yourself before sending them
