A few simple questions about Logic 8

1 - Let's say I have automation all over my vox track, now, after it's all done, I want to raise or lower the whole track a few db. How should I do this?

2 - I was playing with a few of Logic's synths and many of those had clicks and pops while I was playing. Ok, my buffer was at 128 (macbook 2ghz, 1.25Gb RAM, 10.4.10) but even at 1024 they still have clicks while playing. Can anyone confirm this or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks a lot!

Insert the gain plugin on the vocal track.

As for the clicks and pops in Logic's synths. I can confirm this, but I believe what you are experiencing is rather normal for most software synths.

Most of the time it is caused by the attack or release of the ADSR controlling volume to be too short. I have noticed this quite a bit with ES1, not so much with ES2.

For number one, I think you might be able to click drag, or option (one of the modifier keys I can't remember) click drag the yellow bar that comes up when you zoom and select automation on that track. I am totally not sure, but I think I remember doing that once to try to do what you are doing and I can't remember whether it worked.

First of all, thanks for all the replies!!!

Ok, I had a session with nothing but the instrument, pictures attached!!!

The moment of the screenshot I had a 3 note chord playing. I bet CPU is not the problem, neither RAM...

turn off your wi-fi, for starters :D

also..open up activity monitor (applications-utilities)

this will help you identify any other processes that are diverting resources away from logic....it´s always best to have logic running completely alone...no internet etc

this is especially important when using a lower amount of ram.....such as you have

good luck
