moving a stereo sound in the surround panner

hi. new to logic and here.

 

i am working in quad and i have a stereo synth that i want to move around in different ways, circling around clockwise and front to rear. when i start with the synth stereo in the front and then circle around to the rear what started out in my front left channel is now in my rear right channel. all this works as i would think and sounds great. but when i am wanting to take the synth and move from the front then directly to back at the center point of the panner the stereo is inverted. how would i smoothly move a sound front to back and keep the stereo left and the stereo right consistant?
