I have learned so much (I'm too embarrassed to say what it was I didn't know) since coming here. So even though I have written over a dozen film scores and written more songs than that using Logic over the last 6 years, a friend I have been working with for the last year remarked only last week that I am so much more of a Logic wiz now than when we started working together only a year ago.

It's all from coming here.

Re learning so much by being here? Yup. I feel the same way.

I think it was during a conversation I had with David (host of this forum) some time ago that he said (and I'm paraphrasing) --- that if you put two Logic users together in a room, no matter how much each of them might know about Logic, they'll each walk away knowing more about the program than they ever did before. And man did that make me feel a whole lot better!

So I'll chime in and say THANKS too!

i concur. Between this site and Dave' book I've become the logic master (kidding....ok maybe I am a little serious) I'm getting ready to take the level one certification and I've never been so excited about taking a test.

Thanks Dave and everyone else who have answered my questions on this site. it is truly a wonderful resource.

Wow thanks guys! I'm so glad the forums have grown into much more than I ever anticipated when I started. That's because when I started.. I had no idea who would come!

Let's face it, the quality of a party is half the work you put in preparing and hosting the party. The other half is who you invite.

So .. thanks for coming!

I agree- before this, I was pretty heavy in the drug and gang scene. I'd be all like, "You got your pistol in my face- you're calling me a motherf***er?"

Now I learn about Logic at my computer.

I'm kidding- this forum is great, thanks David, it's great to learn new things and I find I do in good company on this site every day. Thanks to all of you!

Oh, man, you should have stopped right there --- I was about to pitch your life story to Warner Brothers and make us both rich! (You for the story rights, me for the score).

Ya blew it man!

It almost doesn't matter if I made it up anymore- there was that woman who wrote of her life in the gangs and everything in California and it turned out she grew up in comfort in the suburbs- admittedly, not as good of a story.

But the one that kills me is the other woman who said her parents had been exposed and killed by the Nazis and so among other things she ended up being raised by wolves- yes, wolves. I've never been an editor of a major book house but I might have been a little skeptical of that... but the book goes to press. It turns out later her family is fine, she, uh, hadn't been raised by wolves (in Europe- the first place you would think of for cross species parenting) and she wasn't actually Jewish. I'm not kidding... this was recent news.

So what is the truth anyway? I dunno- I sit that out on this here Logic forum, talking about bit depth and plug ins. That's the truth, baby- and I can hear it and see it.

Well, I got my start busking on the streets of NYC, playing reductions of Bach inventions and Scarlatti sonatas on a toy piano that had only a couple of working keys. One day, Mr. Spielberg happened to be in town, walks by and throws me some spare change. He says, "I've never heard music like that before. How would you like to score my next movie?" I said, "Sure! You got a budget?" From that I think he immediately pegged me as an indy film composer and I never got the gig.

But alas, I still use Logic, and I harbor no hard feelings towards John Williams.

Well, I got my start busking on the streets of NYC ......

In Manchester Market Square, one Summer night

There was only one cab on the rank.

The driver was reading the "News of the World"

And was quietly enjoying ....... his third cigarette.

"How much will you charge me to Oldham ?"

Came a sweet voice as clear as a bell.

"I'll not charge you nothing to 'old 'em, my lass,

If you let me 'old yours as well ............"

(Remember, you heard it first on LogicPro Help)
