8Core, Leopard, Logic8, 3rd part plugs = disaster...

I have lost my patients with Logic Pro..... Cut my teeth with logic..... But damn....

I use BFD2 for drums...and I use UAD1 as well.... My number 1 go to plugs.... THEY DONT WORK IN LOGIC...... And its annoying.....holding me back creatively. 3rd party plugs have a real problem with LOGIC pro.....

Just last week I made the move to Ableton Live...... PROBLEM SOLVED......BFD2 and UAD1 work flawlessly...... The interface is unbelievably intuitive.... and the sampler puts LOGIC to shame!

So I have been told.......make your arraignments in Ableton...and mix in LOGIC....

WHY?

none of my favorite NEVE plug ins will work in logic..... and mixing in Ableton works just fine..... does take a week to get use to all the quirky ways Ableton is set up.... but damn..... everything works...

Now I spend my time creating rather than scouring the internet for work arounds....

Just wanted to pass this along.... If your frustrated like I was.... consider Ableton Live......

Peace

The instruments in Ableton are a bit hard to control at the moment.... but I mostly use 3rd party soft synth...... Albino3, Crystal..... they work good in Logic as well... the biggest thing I like about LIVE is the ability to create on the fly..... the automation is soooo easy to use....

Assigning Midi controllers is a snap...compared to logic.

I just talked with one of the reps at UAD, the issue is with the 8core and the UAD card, not Logic. It wouldn't matter if you had any other Daw, for some reason, it doesn't work. But hey if Ableton works for you great. The only thing that matters is if you're making money with the tools you use. No need to bash Logic.

I will consider the source with that wonderful comment.

No need to bash Logic.

Not bashing LOGIC .... Im simply explaining my point of view.... In Fact I love working in LOGIC a million times more than PRO TOOLS or any other DAW....

BUT YES...... My 2 favorite 3rd party plugins (UAD1 & BFD2) dont work in LOGIC.... YET!

So.... Being impatient as I am.... I decided to venture out and see what els there is out there for me to work with..... Ableton Live simply works.....

And my neve plugs work great in Ableton.... I have the 88rs on 6 different instances as we speak..... no pops....snags...... error messages..... audio overload messages.... no crashes...... I talk with the techs at UA regularly... I know about the 8 core issue and LOGIC/Leopard..... Not an issue with Ableton Live/ 8core/ Leopard.....

The only thing is I cant get the factory presets to come up.... only presets I saved myself....

cheers.
